Comparison of space weathering features in three particles from Itokawa

Abstract The return of samples from S‐type asteroid 25143 Itokawa have enabled significant improvements in our understanding space weathering on asteroids and the link between ordinary chondrites. We report three new particles, providing details adjacent grains within a particle several different phases. features we observe are consistent with formation via irradiation solar wind, as opposed to micrometeoroid bombardment. also see differences degree for collected two touchdown locations asteroid. Continued analysis allow us draw more complete picture variety processes that lead their other airless bodies.
